MEISSEN FLORAL BALL PEN The Meissen Floral Ballpoint Pen was inspired by a large white baluster-shaped vase with a Kakiemon flower and bird design, now on display at the Museum. Because of the popularity of Japanese designs, specifically the colorful floral designs of Kakiemon porcelains, they were imitated by the major eighteenth-century European manufactures.
