April 28, 1838. On this day, Pelikan was
founded in Hanover, Germany, and is today famous and recognized around
the world. Pelikan then only distributed paints and inks but during the
course of its long history was much expanded. In 1929, probably one of
the most important dates for Pelikan, the first fountain pen was
delivered: the Pelikan 100 with its piston-filled ink system. This
laid the foundation for a permanently growing assortment of writing
instruments that always reflect the spirit of the time. Many of them
still have their place in the range of high-grade Pelikan writing
instruments.
